Blooming Onion.
Everyone asks me how to make these at home rather than at a Friday's or Outback Steakhouse. Here is my version of the Blooming Onion, serve it at your own backyard bash!
Onion
Milk
Flour for dredging
Oil
Take a pearing knife and cut from the blossom end to the root end (make sure you do not cut through it), make 12 cuts (1/3 of the inch wedges attached). Pres sit down and let the bloom form. Then soak it in milk for 5-10 minutes. Dredge it in flour completely and then deep fry it. Make sure the oil isn't TOO hot or you will have a browned or blackened onion that isn't cooked inside!
