Beefy Shepherd's Pie

1 tablespoon corn oil*
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 12oz jar Heinz Homestyle Savory Beef Gravy, or other gravy of choice
1 cup frozen peas
salt and pepper to taste*
4 cups (1 pack) Diner's Choice Garlic Mashed Potatoes, or other mashed potatoes of choice
1 8oz package shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Preheat broiler. Microwave mashed potatoes until hot, about 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a large sauté pan until very hot. Add ground beef and cook, stirring, to break up meat. After 3 minutes add peas and gravy, bring to a simmer. Lay beef mixture down in a 11-3/4 in x 7-1/2 in baking dish. Spread mashed potatoes evenly over the beef mixture, covering it completely. Next, sprinkle cheese evenly over the potatoes. Place under broiler until cheese melts, about 1 minute; watch carefully while under broiler. Serve hot.
